    Disembarking, Suicidal squads, etc?

    As far as death charges go, listen to this one... It's around turn 20 in the 'Last Defense' scenario. My immobilized Tiger has finally taken out the last M18 and my halftracks start moving forward. They were all out of ammo and I was ferrying troops to the front with them. Guess the AI didn't like this as an infantry squad with only 2 men remaining broke from one of the houses and ran straight for one of my halftracks. As all of my infantry squads on the front were low on ammo, only sporadic fire was directed at the kamikazes. Anyways, near the 50 second mark, the 2 man squad had run about 100m and chucked a grenade into the halftrack, immobilizing it. The crew and infantry squad inside abandoned and killed one of the men and the other immediately surrendered. I thought that this was pretty cool and the remaining survivor should be awarded the Bronze Star (when he is no longer on POW status) smile.gif

    Sound Issues?

    The only other thing that I can suggest is to check and make sure that your speakers are plugged into the correct place. There are usually 2 places that you can plug your speakers into on the soundcard. One is for powered speakers and the other is for non-powered speakers. If you have the Altec Lansing speaker system, plug the speakers into the hole closest to the gameport connector.

    I have almost exactly the same system as you (Dell P3 550) and have had nary a problem with sounds. Do you have DirectX 7? If so, you might want to go to the Dell site and download the latest drivers for the Montego...

    Playing the demo...

    Found a great way to stay up late playing the demo. Just listen to 'Spiel Mit Mir' as loud as you can while locked onto your 88's, might want to wear headphones if the rest of your family is sleeping though. I've also found that 'Du Hast' goes good with it as well...

    Great FTP

    Just had to write and commend BTS on their FTP. When I downloaded the game from home last night on my dialup account, I was getting an average 3.3KBps download. Thought it was a bit slow with my 56k until I noticed that I only connected in at 31.2. smile.gif Now, this morning at work on our ISDN, I'm getting 14.0KBps averages. This is great, the demo is great and you guys have a great FTP. smile.gif Keep up the good work...

    I'm sick of politically correct ****! Who cares if the name Hitler or Himmler is in the game? I guess if we really don't want to offend anyone, just leave the German names blank. I mean, the Germans killed lots of Brits, Americans, Canadians, Poles, Russians, etc. Wouldn't want to offend any of them by including certain German names in the game now would we?

    Well, I think that you probably COULD shoot an AT weapon from inside a house. You will probably be leaving the house pretty quickly though, as the fire that your backblast caused starts heating up your backside... smile.gif
