  1. Charles, once again I'm very impressed how you react to customer input. Thank you again. Fionn yes, other companys have to learn a lot from battlefront... Fred
  2. Ken, I found the numbers for MG ammo of german tanks in the Book "German tanks of world war two" from an english writer, George Forty. Its is a very good read, and you found all models and variants (well, most of them) in it. Fred
  3. Some numbers: A Pz IV usually has 2700 rounds MG ammo A Panther usually has 4200 rounds MG ammo Practical fire speed (not theoretical) of the MG 34 was 300 shots per minute, down to 150 shots per minute if firing short bursts of 3 to 5 rounds. Well, if it is not to much work (and delay) I think MG ammo supply for tanks should be added. Fred
  4. Hi! PFC german army (armored artillery). Drafted with 18, being there for 15 month. At least a short military career Fred
  5. I agree with Stephen Smith. After all, it is a game and I want to play the game. I don't want to lean back and watch a movie about one computer AI model fights the other AI model. I want to decide (and not every 15 minutes). There has to be a balance between gameplay and realism. On this small scale, 1 minute turns and the delays implemented by BTS, seem to me nearly perfect, because they keep the balance between gameplay (sheer fun) and realism. Sorry, no 10-15 min between order and execution for me. Fred
  6. Fionn, I guess the squad that kills the Sherman has qualified itself for the "Panzernahkampfspange" (tank close assault badge) Fred
  7. I agree with you Steve; no manual check but the cd has to be in the drive in order to play CM. And to be honest, I really trust all those dedicated wargamers on this website, that we all realize the efforts of Charles and you and the others to create such a fine game. That would feel like betraying a buddy, and most people won't do that (I hope so Fred
  8. As far as I know, the halftrack 251/1 had a AAMG (MG34?) mounted on a rear mount. But firing this AAMG from a moving halftrack at a strafing plane is a difficult task (same for tank mounted AAMGs; the commander prefers to button up I suppose, if a plane strafes his tank). Fred
  9. Here is mine: "Vorwärts, Ihr Affen! Wollt ihr ewig leben?" (literally: "Move out, you apes! You want to live forever") Unknown german NCO, 1918 taken from my most famous sf book, Starship Troopers by Robert A. Heinlein (forget the movie, read the book Fred
  10. Hi there! The MPi 38/40 was developed 1938 by a guy named Heinrich Vollmer from the Erfurter Waffenfabrik company. But there is a Schmeisser MPi; the MPi 41 (Schmeisser-Haenel model). Not quite this famous as the MPi 40... Fred
  11. Hi! Market garden is the battle of choice...Arnheim and Nijmwegen bridge. Can't wait to try CM on this one... Fred
  12. Hello! I just read the battle reports on TGN. Anyone remember the old days, when some of us played Panzer Strike on the C64? This was a great game for its time, but I am sure, most of us dreamt about a game with 3D and details to make a grognard happy and a challenging AI. And suddenly its here! Thank you Bigtime, and this was only possible because it is from wargamers for wargamers. And I'm sure that after the release of CM, the community will say hello to some new wargamers! To be honest, as an old SL player (not ASL) I was not this happy when hearing that you move to 3D and simultaneous execution. But, ok, you were right and I was wrong I guess, this game will be a milestone and it will have a great influence an all wargames to come. And it shows one thing; you don't need a big company which puts all bucks in ads and hype, but you need dedicated and highly skilled people to create such a game. So thanks again Bigtime, for something which looks like a wargamers dream come true and I hope (and I am sure) you will sell lots of games. Keep up the good work Fred
  13. Hello! I don't found anything in the FAQ: will it be possible to customize some in-game variables? If, for example, I think that spotting is done to easily (even if my opinion is wrong), is it possible to change the parameter, e.g from 100%("realistic setting") to 80%? Thank you Fred (CM was preordered from me and I will use it as a tool for my ww2 rpg campaign)
