  1. Hi Furchtlosundtrew

The main events that will bring Bulgaria into the war are these:

If Belgrade falls, then Bulgaria will swing 10-20% towards the Central Powers, with a 35% chance every turn of a further 1-4%.

If Nish falls, then Bulgaria will swing 5-15% towards the Central Powers.

Add in some diplomacy, and they should enter the war sometime in 1915.

But there is nothing definite about their war entry, and Entente actions could prevent them joining the war, especially if they take Gallipoli which will make them swing towards the Entente.

  2. Hi Philippe

For the main WWI campaigns like Call to Arms, the anchor symbol will work fine. Good idea. :)

You are right that it is more problematical for the smaller campaigns, but fortunately a fair number of them use their own modified unit sprites.

If they have their own sprites they will be in a Bitmaps folder within that campaign's own main folder.

It might be easiest if you plan your changes for a specific campaign or set of campaigns, e.g. Call to Arms and Ostaufmarsch, as more work will be involved the more campaigns you try to mod the graphics for. Then you could see what is applicable for the other ones after those are done.

  3. I'll be very interested to see how this goes, and it's great to see another of your AARs! :)

I have to confess that I have beaten the Central Powers in a game where they adopted this very strategy, but in my opponent's defence it was his first time as Central Powers, so I did have a significant advantage there.

I won't give away any of my secrets just yet, but there are things the Entente can do when Germany heads east. ;)

  4. Hi Philippe

You're right, the Breakthrough expansion refers to the base WWI game's graphics for the most part.

Each campaign can have its own graphics by placing them in that Campaign's Bitmap Folders, but if you are changing ones applicable to all campaigns then changing the relevant file within the base WWI game would be the best thing to do.

Possibly keep the originals as back up just in case though.

  5. Hi Philippe

The Senussi are effectively Libyan partisans, so they will use the activation symbols associated with Libya. In which case you may wish to change them to the Senussi colours.

Effectively what happens in the game engine to Libya, Palestine, Syria and Arabia when the Italians and Ottomans respectively enter the war, is that these countries are surrendering. This allows the deployment of Partisan forces during the game, such as the Senussi and Arab Revolt.

  6. Hi Philippe

Yes, Libya's flag will also turn Italian when they enter the war.

I found it interesting in your thread on propaganda posters that the Austrian flag features prominently in some, while the Hungarian flag was notable by its absence.

I remember when we were designing the game that we wanted to use a flag that would best represent both parts of Austria-Hungary, without having to represent them as separate countries.
