It's possible that the code Charles added to do this automatically won't work on every PC and Windows configuration. More than likely thats why you still had to do it manually.
I will see about making note of this in the readme for the v1.05 patch.

You are seeing this with a game started in v1.04?
Its possible that the original save game somehow got corrupted (just like any other file on a computer, that can occur for various reasons).
Have you just seen this once or twice or do you get this everytime you save the game and then try and reload with that save file?

Its not anything we have ever seen during testing or development as far as I know. Has anyone else ever seen this?

I know that's been suggested before, so I am sure its on the "to do" list at some point. But there are more pressing issues to get implemented first still.

My guess is that your setup area is too small for the amount of units you have. Try and expand the setup area and see if that fixes the problem.

The fix to the broken TCP (introduced in 1.04) will be one feature of the upcoming v1.05 patch.

Hey guys, I didn't realize so much time had gone since my last posts here but I had been busy with a ton of other issues lately including getting the new expansion to SC2 ready as well as implmenting the all new order system.
Normally I try to only post when I have something relevant to say or if something since my last post has changed.
Having said that, we are working on v1.05 and are aware of the issues being raised here and on the main CMSF forum.
I will go through the forum and try to update everyone on each key issue as best I can with the info I have at the moment.

By the way guys, while Weapons and Warfare has been grabbing all the headlines over the past few weeks, I wanted to clue you in that we will be making another HUGE annoucement next week which pertains to Strategic Command 2 Blitzkrieg.
Some of you probably have a good idea about this already but for those that are new to the whole Strategic Command series, I think this announcement will really sway people to pick up the Bundle Pack so that they get both Blitzkrieg and Weapons and Warfare.
For those of you that already have SC2 Blitzkrieg, this announcement will be sure to put a big smile on your face as well. You might actually call it a "Global" smile...

Weapons and Warfare is the first expansion pack to the award winning turn based WWII strategy game, Strategic Command 2 Blitzkrieg.
This demo includes two playable campaigns, Fall Weiss which depicts the German invasion of Poland and Wacht Am Rhein, better known as the Battle of the Bulge. Multiplayer modes are disabled in the demo but both campaigns are playable against the AI as either the Axis or Allied side.

Nope, the patch installer is just a simple link to the games executable. Its EXACTLY like a normal shortcut.
Have you tried right clicking on the exe (not the shortcut) and selected "Run as" and then selected your Administrator account?
By the way, what does the crash actually say?

There is no difference between those shortcuts but try this, go into the game folders, right click on the game exe's and select "Send To", then "Desktop (create shortcut)" and see if those newly created shortcuts work.

Regardless of who you are, you get one license key which is good for two simulataneous activations. Just like with all of our other games.

Once the expansion is released, the download version will be 25 bucks.
The CD version will be 25 bucks (plus shipping and handling)
The CD and Download version will be 35 bucks (plus shipping and handling).
For the Bundle Pack, once released prices will be as follows:

More than likely because your video card doesn't really have properly OpenGL drivers (none of the ATI mobility chipsets do) but you might want to try whats mentioned on this page. It's a fix for Theatre of War (also a OpenGL game)that allows you to use the latest Catalyst drivers on these Mobility chipsets but it could allow CMSF to run better.

Meach, you said your running two video cards in SLI mode, correct? Have you tried disabling one of the two cards? SLI mode doesnt work too well in CMSF.
SoCold, once you formated and reinstalled the game, were you prompted to enter your license key again? If not, then please follow the steps detailed here and see if they work:

Is there a possibility to copy the files between the scenario folders of the different language versions?
The german translation is unfortunately destroying a lot of the atmosphere.
The campaign worked fine btw.

Just wanted to give you guys an update on this issue. I did some testing tonight and was able to connect in v1.04 but I think I might see something else that could be causing an issue.
Anyway, we are looking into this, I just wanted you to know.

Self Shadowing Problems

Those type of jagged shadows are not isolated to just CMSF but a variety of other games have them as well. That's not a explantion, just a comment.
Having said that, when we can, we will always try to improve the look (and sound) of the game, but for the moment we are still concentrating on the biggest gameplay issues and since shadows are still basically a cosemetic thing (but yes, they are cool) it's a lower priority issue compared to others.
