Yes, it was a very interesting battle. See the scenario "Greyhound."

BFC didn't think of that and allow for shoot n scoot etc to be executed in reverse? (at least for archers) Jeez what a clunky piece of code. It would have been better to leave the archer out altogether. </font>Originally posted by Michael Emrys:</font><blockquote>quote:</font><hr />Originally posted by CMplayer:

Seek hull down, shoot and scoot, etc., will all result in your Archers moving to the designated point normally, and they're dead meat. You can only use them from an established ambush position and hope that they kill their target before they get cold feet (tracks?).

Has anybody actually tried this?Originally posted by Michael Emrys:</font><blockquote>quote:</font><hr />Originally posted by Treeburst155:
Maybe the best way to use units like the Archer is to do a little shoot & scoot. Maybe they'll stick around long enough to get off a round if they know they already have orders to retreat.

Just one little self-serving bump to make sure that everyone has had a chance to see this notice before this post shuffles off this mortal coil into the long sleep of page 2 and beyond oblivion ...

No offense taken, I was jus' funnin' ya. I was definitely suprised at your revelation, and would also have taken it into consideration when making my mod. I never mind learning something new.Originally posted by MikeyD:Please don't take offense, that line was my justification for taking the easy route and using little black dots for bolts heads instead of the 3-D types. Screw heads cast shadows too! .
The more modders doing different things, the more I learn and the more everyone benefits.

Ouch, was that an M3 Scout Car that just hit me?!?Originally posted by MikeyD:One way my mod differs from others (and the CMAK textures of this Scout Car) is my bolt details are not overdone raised details with cast shadows but are meant to instead represent the more subtle flat screw heads that were holding the vehicle together. I think it looks more realistic.
Interesting observation. I never had access to a close enough detail shot to know that they were screws rather than bolts. Maybe I'll have to revise mine too. Were the M3/M5 halftracks also screwed together rather than bolted?
Looks very nice, as always.

Ah. That means I must be living off the lavish 401k plan I received for doing all my mods.Originally posted by Pvt. Ryan:It was a reference to your retirement, not your age.

Social Security? I'm old, but I'm not that old. :cool:Originally posted by Pvt. Ryan:Very nice! Shows what a couple of guys on Social Security can do. Make them CMMOS compatible and I'll send you some food stamps.

Thank Marco too. He really whipped the FlaK tracks into shape. The detail he works into mods is absolutely stunning.
I'm just his apprentice.

Yes. There are differences in the FlaK track and gun models for CMBO versus CMBB/CMAK.Originally posted by BadgerDog:Am I to assume from this title that this particular mod is ONLY for CMBO and not CMAK?

See the posting on the CMAK forum
Long Overdue and a little rushed but NEW MODS NOW ON CMHQ!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
for a batch of CMAK/CMBB (and CMBO) FlaK track mods by Marco Bergman and myself.
I suppose you might also use the Matilda II mods for CMBB if you wanted your russkies driving around in snazzy caunter camouflaged vehicles, but they might draw undue attention to themselves.

These mods have been provided to Madmatt for posting on CMHQ. Start pestering him.

V,
No harm, no foul. I wouldn't recommend holding my breath, as there's still a lot of work to be done, and I can't allocate hours and hours per day to working on it. I will get it done eventually, and I hope that it will be worth the wait.

I have no idea what EAW Stab is. CMMOS (Combat Mission Mod Option Selector) is a tool for installing mods, and selecting options for a single mod or across multiple mods. For instance if you have the corresponding mods installed you could select Czech markings for all your "Russian/Allied" vehicles, or set all your Panzers to have Nazi flags as aerial recognition panels.

Well, as is, the CD is chock-full to over capacity. Don't worry, with CMMOS for CMAK you'll at least be able to swap between sets.Originally posted by Bastables:bugger, so many improvments, so hoped for a little more.

Bastables,
Nope, but at least the Commonwealth and US Shermans are separate this time.

Marco,
Looks fantastic (as always).
Do you, or any grogs out there, know if guns employed any tactical markings in the desert (or Italy for that matter)? What about camo?

V,Originally posted by V:do you modders give us these previews for feedback reasons, to make us drool, or to get some small ounce of meaning injected into your slutty lives?
I've always wondered that.
Anyways, it is a beautiful looking King Tiger.
Well, everybody likes nice comments, but mostly I do it just to let folks know what's coming down the pike and also because invariably a grog will point out something I missed. Better now than after I've released it.

Gaj,
Sorry, wasn't explicit enough. That was a "simple" King Tiger mod. See Combat Mission HQ
Scroll down the page to the link for "GEM_PzVIB_sPzAbt503_CMMOS_hr.zip"
This one uses the more advanced features of CMMOS. Try selecting one of the marking options and I think you'll see what I mean.

All, thanks for the comments.
As Måkjager points out, the King Tiger is the first, true love of my (modding life). It is, bar none, the coolest, bad-ass looking tank that ever was.
MikeyD, Precisely! And I don't get all woozy from the glue fumes.
There's lot's of potential for moving graphics from CMAK back into CMBB, so I'm sure it will become a cottage industry.

Not offended, just wanting to give Fernando and Kwazy Dog the credit they deserve. It just seems sometimes people are a little too quick to jump on the mod bandwagon. Take a little time to really enjoy the stock graphics. There are quite a few jewels in there.Originally posted by Vergeltungswaffe:Uh oh, I've offended Gordon and Fernando.
<dons hairshirt>
Please allow me to replace "hideous" with "begs to be modded", as you intended.
And I couldn't agree more, the new desert and Italian theater allied models are easily the best yet.
Dressler, thats wonderful. I will keep hoping for my late war BB/AK Panzers and HT's to have ambush like Fernando's.
Gordon, your BB KT looks great. A dunkelgelb version with great detail will be almost as good as an ambush one.
Never fear about the KT. I have plans beyond just the base dunkelgelb version.
You would not be disappointed as plans are in the works.Originally posted by Commissar:I would love to see the Shermans get the Bergman treatment.

Ok, been working on the suspension parts.
There's still some rough parts, but any grogs out there want to point out any flaws?
Thanks,
