Ok, this time I need to know the proper term for tanks or AFVs. I know that "tank riders" were called "Tankodesantniki" (hopefully I spelled that correctly), but are tanks simply called "Tanks" in Russian?
Thanks,
Gordon

Tero,
Do you have any documentation on what Finnish mine warning sign looked like? If so, can you e-mail it to "gordonemolek@poboxes.com"?

Darknight_Canuck,
When the winter allied vehicles rule-set was "planned", it didn't seem like there'd need to be lot's of vehicle-specific choices (e.g., you'd only want all vehicles whitewashed, or all vehicles snow-covered and not some whitewashed (without snow) and some snow-covered (without whitewashed), so all allied vehicles are modified by the multi-vehicle icons along the top row (and as stated in the little memo box on the option selection window). The Churchill merits it's own Icon because there were so many variants provided for in Shane Peterson's original summer mod.
So, bottom line, select and apply one of the multi-vehicle icons.

Folks,
It appears that the CM:HQ ftp server has kicked the bucket, shuffled off this mortal coil, is pushing up the daisies, has bought the farm, etc., etc.
Madmatt has been contacted, so we'll all just have to hang in there until the problem is resolved.
I just hope I don't have to re-upload 3.5 GB worth of mods, even with broadband.

Anybody have any photos or drawings of how the various CMBB combatants marked minefields? I can "port" the German mine warning signs from CMBO, but what about the Soviets, Finns, Hungarians, Romanians, Italians, Poles?
Thanks in advance,
Gordon

I might be able to make it depending on the time and location. I live in the northwest suburbs.

Yes and yes. The frequent updates are necessitated by the untangling of the web of BMPs and WAVs to create the file lists which CMMOS uses to install mods. We're doing them on an as needed basis to reduce the load.
Oh, and there were a couple of feature enhancements and bug fixes thrown in too.

Do any of the Hungarian contingent have good references for AVF camouflage used during the war?

Please e-mail copies of the files CMMOSLog.txt and CMMOS.ini from your CMMOS install folder to "gordonemolek@poboxes.com" and we'll get you squared away.

All but a few of the very newest CMBO CMMOS mods are "old-style" CMMOS mods, which means you should unzip the BMPs into the CMBO BMP folder, rather than installing them within CMMOS. There's additional information that's part of a "new-style" CMMOS mods that allows CMMOS to process the BMPs and leave them zipped.

Folks,
If anyone out there can provide appropriate phrases for use with CMMOS for the following terms:
Hungarian: "Hungarian Vehicles", "Hungarian Infantry" (or Uniforms).
Romanian: "Romanian Vehicles", "Romanian Infantry" (or Uniforms).
Polish: "Polish Vehicles", "Polish Infantry" (or Uniforms).
Italian: "Italian Vehicles", "Italian Infantry" (or Uniforms).
Thanks,
Gordon

Ok, we'll go with this. Thanks.Originally posted by Keke:Suomen armeija
If I wanted to have 2 categories, one for Vehicles and Guns, and 1 for Infantry/Uniforms, how should they be distinguished?

Or more precisely, what would be the appropriate name for a CMMOS rule-set (tab) convering the Finnish vehicles, guns, and uniforms? Something akin to "Finnish Army" or "Finnish Forces"?
Thanks,

CMMOS v4.02 is the latest. I release a new version for several different reasons, either new features, or bug fixes. v4.02 represents both of those cases. Part of the feature work that's necessitating more frequent updates of CMMOS is that we don't have a complete BMP and WAV listing for CMBB, so I'm adding them as people give them to me or as mods need them.

No, summer textures are always used in summer. The game uses winter textures if they are present. "Revert" simply deletes the winter textures so the game will use the summer ones in winter.

CMBO CMMOS rule-sets are contained in self-installing executables, download them anywhere and execute them. CMBB CMMOS rule-sets can be downloaded anywhere and then you run CMMOS, click on the "Configure" button, select the "Rule-sets" tab, click on "Add", navigate to where you downloaded the rule-sets, select one and click "Open".Originally posted by Grey Fox:Pardon my lack of computer knowledge but I have cmmos installed (v4.02) but cannot remember where I should place new rulesets as I download them.
Any help will be appreciated.Thanks!

That is correct. Haven't had the time to create all those icons yet.Originally posted by Duke of Earl:Bonjour fellas,
Thanks for the advice...
Well, I thought I had configured the newest Schweinstall Dunkelgrau ruleset from Dec 13... but... ooops... I had not... so, it is now added to CMMOS 4.02 and that error is corrected...
Also, I have d/l and configured the DS_Grey_AG_CMMOS mod file...
But... I don't see any icon buttons for either the DS_Grey_Tanks mod file or DS_Grey_AG mod file on the CMMOS selector panel...
However... I now see a new icon button on the selector panel for the Dec 13 Schweinstall Dunkelgrau ruleset...
So, I am thinking that this new Schweinstall Dunkelgrau button probably controls the simultaneous installation of all Dunkelgrau Tank & AG mod files... and probably all the Support Vehicle mod file too...

You didn't download "Der_Schweinestall_Dunkelgran_RuleSet.zip" from Der Schweinestall CMMOS Web Page ?

Knaust,Originally posted by Knaust:How can I see which mods I have already applied?...I mean that it would be great to have different icons for mods already applied and for mods still to be applied...uhmmm...my poor English
Not at all, this feature has been asked for in the past. Unfortunately, CMMOS doesn't really track which "thing" (be it a building, a vehicle, etc.) is installed, only BMPs. Since different Icons can modify the same BMPs (due to different mods of the same vehicle, for instance), the best that CMMOS could provide would be a history-type function, which would display the last 20, say, Icons that were applied. It would be up to the user to figure out if those Icons overlapped in any way. So, I just haven't been convinced (yet) of the utility of the feature when it's just as easy to pop into the game and see what's what.

Ok, another missing link, blame the damn gremlins. It should be available now. Be sure the refresh the page when you go back to the CMBO Terrain mods page for CMMOS.Originally posted by Mr. Die Easy:Dear Gordon,
Thank you for another amazing release!
Question: Strontium Dogs's Paved road has an icon in Road&Track, but I cannot find the corresponding download on CMHQ ?

Yes, that's my intention. I may even work on a couple of long-term, from scratch projects.Originally posted by Vader's Jester:Thanks Gordon for the reply. You are still gonna hang out and play aren't ya? Just no more mod projects of the now famous epic scale that we know you for?

While I can't guarantee anything, I'm sure that someone will do them justice. However, if anyone has scale plans for the M5/M5A1/M15, feel free to contact me.
And no, I'm not retiring because I'm pissed, I just want to be able to PLAY CMBB, unlike CMBO.
