  1. RT mostly. WEGO is usually better for testing though. Recently I found out that some huge battles that I have never been able to play before due to my system specs, can actually be very enjoyable played as WEGO. This coupled with replay are the big advantages in WEGO. However RT is more fluid and real, so it´s still my favorite. Best of all is to have both in the same game! -
  2. Gebhard Leberecht von Blücher - He might have a great sense of humor but you would never tell by looking at his portrait! -
  3. r3pent, Welcome! There will be a lot of new stuff coming out soon once you finish catching up with what is already available! -
  4. Like I said in previous posts the idea was to have a "fair" fight. Also challenging. To compensate for the better weapons of the US I upgraded the Syrians! Good thing is that you can always go to the editor and change that! Like you did! But actually I have already done two versions. v1 is with uber Syrians. v1.2 is more what you would expect and also a bit more support. I think it might be fun to play v1.2 first and then go for v1 for extra challenge! -
  5. theFightingSeabee, Unless something unpredictable happens the structure will be kept the same. There will be a Z folder for MODs. It has always been BFs intention to let players add skins and sounds to their games. -
  6. Mad Mike, Thanks for the AAR!!! I´m glad you enjoyed it. The idea was to have a lot of action and a reasonably big force but still be able to manage in RT, which is what I play 95% of the time. Like you said if you go slowly you don´t really need a lot of pauses and still you have time to evaluate the situation as you go. -- SlapHappy, Might have to do with style of play. Maybe you are an anxious kind of guy. Seriously, the idea is to go slowly, since you have plenty of time. Evaluate the situation and decide what to do as you go along since the enemy AI is pretty active in this one. - -
  7. There is no release date yet. But I believe British Forces should be out soon. NATO will follow some months later. -
  8. NATO module will include them. Will be released after the British Forces module. -
  9. Apparently Cromwell Mk IV and Mk VI. I don´t think Churchill I or VIII fit in there. No Archer either. But I guess in CMAK the case was to include all variants and models possible!
  10. Can you post your list here? I´d be curious to see what you´ve got. -
  11. 007_5th, Thanks for the AAR! Great read. One of the pleasures of designing missions and releasing them is to see other people´s AARs.
  12. I can´t say what Normandy will bring but in CM:SF you can´t place ANYTHING in the setup phase. The most you can do is move troops around IF the designer has placed a setup area. EVERYTHING, including trenches are placed by the mission designer in the editor. The player has no control over that. The designer will make the elevations, place the buildings and the trenches. All this things(apart from troops) are visible to the players of both sides. That´s how CM:SF works now. This is fact. Now here comes speculation and opinion on my part. If you let people place things in the setup phase then what is the reason not to place trenches everywhere you can in all games? Even if you don´t use them! So, I guess the designer of the mission would have to specify how many trenches you are allowed to place in his mission. But that´s not realistic. And if the designer is to have control over that then it´s better to let him decide and place it wherever he pleases. Anyway, if this is introduced there are a lot of things that will need to be addressed to make it work. -
  13. The helmet you see in the screenshots was done to represent the Mk6a. If it doesn´t look like the Mk6a then it would be wrong. I think it is pretty close though. Although pictures you will find on the internet show the helmet in many different ways, with a net, with stuff attached to it, with a black rubber band, etc. The basic shape of the Mk6a with a cover, is deceptively simple. It´s not totally round and it goes only slightly down in the back. It´s all very subtle though. Also it looks quite big. Sometimes too big for the head of the soldier. This is not to say it is actually too big, it just looks that way. For some reason, if you do it that big in the 3D model it looks a bit weird and wrong, I´m not sure why. So, it is a tiny bit smaller than it should be, specially on the sides. Additionally, round things eat loads of polys and this helmet is very round. Inevitably one needs to simplify it. All in all though I think it is a pretty decent representation of the RL counterpart. -
  14. Maybe with the UK version of this mission you´ll have better luck! -
  15. There is a high chance that the Fennek will be in the NATO module. If so the in the future we will be able to compare those two vehicles in the game!
  16. A year ago I started a thread talking about the Jackal: The British need no protection! http://www.battlefront.com/community/showthread.php?t=76170&highlight=The+british+need I think they can be very effective. And the Jackal was meant to be a replacement for the WMIK Land Rover. So apparently the British were happy with this sort of vehicle but needed it to be more robust and faster. As for the fact that they are engaging enemies I think it´s probably because they thought it was only a small group of enemies with small arms so it was worth suppressing. -
  17. I think people didn´t come up with a lot of suggestions because basically they are satisfied with what you have come up with! With this latest updates this app is very solid. Congrats again!
  18. Seems like you are doing just fine! Actually you might be doing better than me on this! I usually take too many casualties. I´m not a very good player, that´s true but hey, I know where everything is! One thing I enjoyed about this map, and the reason why I have come back to it, is that it allows for a variety of tactics.
  19. I would love to make the conversion of the Ghost Campaign to the British Module. We´ll see.
  20. It would make no difference if the were not immobilized. The wouldn´t want to drive around with them anyway. The make a big juicy target for the enemy.
  21. Well, I did but .... SPOILER ALERT**************************************** * * * * * * * * * what I usually do is stay put and fight from a distance for a long time. I remain close to my ammo supplies. Then I choose one way to start advancing, usually through the left. From the hill top and tree lines I can deal with most of what the enemy throws at me. I usually end up with heavy casualties though. It seems to me most people are rushing forward, even going beyond the crossroads to meet the enemy. That never even crossed my mind when I was designing the mission. But, of course, if you manage to do it, go for it!
  22. If you are looking in the repository, check a few files down. You´ve got this one: Red Pepper(v1.1).rar Now try this: Red Pepper Both are to be played with v1.11 of the game
  23. Wow. Well done Falconander! Now if you want a real challenge try v1. It is A LOT tougher! But of course you already know the mission.
