  1. I'm looking into getting some CMBN battles going with some people in my Band of Brothers club again after a long hiatus from CM. I currently, just own the basic CMBN v1, and I'm pretty confused by all the different options currently available to me (not to mention wariness of the hefty price tag of getting them all). At the very least, I plan to pay the $10 uprgrade fee for version 2 of CMBN. My main question is this: Will I be able to play some sort of PBEM game with someone that has all of the different modules installed (CMBN basic, Common Wealth, and Market Garden) on their computer or does my opponent need to have a downgraded, separate installation that matches mine exactly? With regards to the Market Garden module, does this rely upon the installation of the Common Wealth module? Market Garden has a lot of Common Wealth forces in it, right? If I do buy Market Garden but not the Common Wealth forces module, does this mean that I can only play with American and German forces when using Market Garden?
  2. BigJ62, your test is perfectly reflective of reality: What is clearly happening here is that the rifle grenades are skewing this result by ricocheting off of the opposing wall, back over the enemy troops, and landing back right back on top of the shooter! Your test is completely flawed--need to get rid of those rifle grenades! <sarcasm on> Big thumbs up to the people that are running some very basic test/experiments trying to find out how different types of cover may not be working correctly or giving very counter-intuitive results that many of us are experiencing in our own games. Big thumbs down to some of the "arm chair generals" here who are criticizing the validity and design of the tests trying to examine a SINGLE variable without running any of their own.
  3. Same question here--Is there no away to adjust ammo loads for a unit exactly?
  4. I'm not sure if the original question has been answered. If I have a squad occupying some foxholes but one member is not occupying a foxhole (even if one is available right next to him) then that one man does NOT receive the protection bonus of the foxhole, correct? I was originally thinking that the game had little square tiles like CMx1 and that a soldier may be getting the protection since he is in a foxhole tile, but I get the impression that this is not the case if the damage model takes polygons into account.
  5. That I could not position troops in the setup phase for the first tutorial mission was very CONFUSING. I spent like an hour trying to figure out how to position my troops only to find out here that you cannot for this mission. A little documentation in the briefing stating that you are not allowed to position troops would have been helpful for us CMx1 veterans trying out CMBN for the first time.
