  1. Tanks for your answer! Actually there is a way and it works for me now, but I assume that you guys at BFC will take offence so I drop the subject. Kind regards/
  2. Thanks for the tip, so much interesting stuff to read and so little time My guess is that the general they refer to is Heinrici. It's only two possibly alternativs, right? Heinrici, Colonel-General Gotthard (1886-1971): 33-37: Chief ? Section Ministry of War 37 : Head Replacement & Army Affairs Office Ministry of War 37-40: General Officer Commanding 16th Division 40 : Acting General Officer Commanding VII Corps 40 : In reserve 40 : Acting General Officer Commanding XII Corps 40-42: General Officer Commanding XXXXIII Corps 42-44: General Officer Commanding 4th Army, Eastern Front 44 : In reserve 44-45: General Officer Commanding 1st Panzer Army, Eastern Front 45 : Commander in Chief Army Group Weichsel 45-48: Prisoner of War Tippelskirch, General of Infantry Kurt von (1891-1957): 38-41: Quartermaster-General IV 42 : General Officer Commanding 30th Division 42-43: German Liaison Officer to 8th Italian Army, Eastern Front 43-44: General Officer Commanding XII 44 : Acting General Officer Commanding 4th Army, Eastern Front 44 : Deputy General Officer Commanding 1st Army, France 44-45: Acting General Officer Commanding 14th Army, Italy 45 : Acting General Officer Commanding 21st Army 45 : Acting Commander in Chief Army Group Weichsel
  3. "The German Army's defensive methods were derived from four basic principles: depth, maneuver, firepower, and counterattack. Through all the variations in defensive methods, these principles continued to guide German commanders in conducting their operations. German units sought to create depth by every means possible, including the distribution of heavy weapons in depth, the construction of rearward defenses, and even the commitment of service troops to combat when necessary. As one German officer wrote after the war, "Depth of the friendly positions is always more important than density."" I should try to keep this in mind when I create my next senario. I guess that a 6 km map is enough to give the russians a hard time
  4. But there was constantly russian counterattacks, so I think the german offensive was something like two step forwards and one step back.
  5. Interesting article about german defence taktic. Enjoy http://www-cgsc.army.mil/carl/resources/csi/Wray/wray.asp
  6. Usually I play CMBB on my desktop, but now I also have installed CMBB on my laptop, for some amusements during travels and so. But is there any way I can start the game without bringing the CD with me (don't want to lose it)? I have limited space on the HD so I can't make a mirror disc.
  7. Just wonder if you perhaps have any link to were I can find Luftwaffe maps? Thanks in advance!
  8. Perhaps this site kan be of any help. http://www.generals.dk/Main.htm Regards/
  9. "Actually I found a better one for CM map-making but those are nice for the troop dispositions." In case you found it on website, you would make me very happy if you post the adress. Thanks in advance!
  10. Just s comment to the original question. The russians produced 98 300 tanks an SP-guns during 1941-45 and they lost 96 500 (D.Glatz). So it gives a rate of 386 losses per week. Of course, it's not discribe the ratio for T-34s. In this thred we have been giving the number of production of T-34's an if we knew how many that where left, then it would be possible to calculate the average lifetime for a T-34.
  11. I have experienced that a gun crew that had abandoned their gun, but been left attached to the gun will operating thu gun in the next battle. So it sometimes works at least in Operations. But I like the idée presented above.
  12. I hope that anyone can help me with this questions! Q1. In an given operation there is a destroyed bridge in a none damage winter landscape. How do I build a map with predamage bridges? Q2. Probably because of my bad knowledge in the english language, do I having problems with understanding the differense between "Battalion-, Regemental- Divisional Reserves". If I build an operation with these kind of reserves, when do they appear (or in my case; not appear)? And finally just a comment to a geat game: IMHO it would have been nice if Pioneers could clear barbed wire just as they can with minefields! I also miss personal who can trace and clear minefield with metallic detectors (at least tank mines). Perhaps it is included in CMAK, quite essential. Thanks in advance. Best regards!
  13. Thanks for your sugesstion. I checked the EAX-console but EAX wasn´t enabled. I also tock out CMSS 3D. But still no difference. The strange thing is that the demo works fine, but when trying the same scenario (Yelnia Stare) in the game it makes the sound dissapears. Copying the demos sound-files to CMBB makes the scenario funktion, but of course with funny sound (doubble speed). I´m I really the only one that having these problem with Audigy2? Greatful for any suggestions. [ May 26, 2003, 08:53 AM: Message edited by: Sgt AA ]
  14. Is there anyone out there who's facing the same problem as I have. My system: Motherboard ASUS P4S8X Grafic ASUS Ti4600 Sound Audigy2 CPU P4 2533 RAM DIMM 512 OS W98SE Syncmaster 161T res. 1260x1024 When playing the game whith the onboard soundcard there is no problem. With Audigy2 the game starts just fine and playing the intro, and a few turns could work out just fine, but when coming to heavier sound effect, like artillery detonations, or in bigger scenarios the sound dissapears totally. Leaving the game and checking with DX9.0 there is no problem with Direct Sound. The game works fine at my other computers, a laptop and a desktop with Soundblaster Live5.1. When testing Onboard SC, I removed the Audigy2 and its components. When testing Audigy2 I formatted, disabled onboard sound in BIOS and made a new installation of OS and drivers. My other games facing no problems, so this is just related to CMBB. Please, any suggestions or help is more than welcome! [ May 26, 2003, 08:55 AM: Message edited by: Sgt AA ]
