1. You might try and contact them directly and see if you can't get a copy, I would think it could be done. On the other hand they will be announcing a new project next year about another WW2 restoration they are planning on doing.
2. Thought some people might be interested in this project, Neptune Monograph, that is now on Kickstarter. It involves the reprinting of the intel used by the Allies for the Normandy invasion. I'm not affiliated with the project in any way so can't answer any questions not already answered on the website or KS page.
3. Actually there is a General Forum , you'll definitely get more replies there.
4. WOW, we just need the tumbleweeds rolling by and the sound of crickets. If you would have posted this message before the CMBB forum came around this thread would be 4 pages long by now. And it wouldn't be telling you how to uninstall the demo either, well at least not the right way
5. My harmless squad of Brit riflemen running for cover are spotted by an unknown german squad. (Please note time at bottom of pictures) Less than one second later: One of my tankers was not too happy about this so on the next turn he looks for revenge: War is hell: After the battle I found the german squad to be a regular '44 rifle squad.
6. Piat info You can buy one here and see a picture also.
7. Andre Hesselroth's webpage has a two different files avialable for MS Excel that show unit information but not how/when/where to use them. Learning unit capabilities is done by reading AAR's, tips from webpages like this one , and last but certainly not the least; in game experience. You might also try the CM Tips & Tricks section of the forum. Hope this helps.
8. I'd have to agree with Gustav on both accounts. It depends on what you most feel comfortable with. I tend to purchase both 75/76mm with 50/57mm but generally find the smaller caliber as effective or even better. The biggest reason is target acquisition. A smaller ATG can rotate quite a bit faster and get more shots off than the larger gun. It just requires more patience in waiting for a high percentage shot and the risk of enemy infantry getting too close before that happens.
9. Somewhere there are jpg's of the Omaha beach map used by the Allies that shows the fortifications, gun emplacements, etc. It might help with the imagination If you can't find the pics I may be able to e-mail them to you or make them available on a web page temporarily but I need to know by the end of the week.
10. I used a tour for the D-Day sites and would recommend them if your time is limited and not there for educational info from the guide, which was my case. But if you have the time, rent a car yourself so you can explore. I would have spent more time at some places but couldn't do to the itinerery. On another note, I have a four day layover in London in a couple of weeks and wanted to head out to Bovington. So a question for the Bovington vets, what's the logistics from the Wool rail station to the museum? Bus, taxi, walk, hijacking, or what?
11. I played a 1250 pt QB the other day and the computer only gave me one platoon of veteran volksgrenadier for infantry. The computer ended up with a company of regular US 45 Rifle. Fortunately, it also gave me 3 75mm inf guns, 1 150mm inf gun, & 1 88mm pillbox in which I was able to place in good locations. The most amazing thing was one of my infantry squads ended up with 24 casualties caused with no losses to itself. I think that is easily the best I've ever had an infantry squad accomplish. Anyway, you can get some really bizarre setups with unrestricted type selection and automatically purchased units.
12.
quote:
Originally posted by Kanonier Reichmann: And guess who took it out with a first shot kill from his Stug... yours truly. Fun campaign by the way, but we was robbed with all the bleedin' wire & mines we had to battle through... it was worse than the Somme! Regards Jim R.

Lucky shot! I was hoping to get that Panther too but I can't complain, I'll sacrifice a 57 for a KT any day We won but a few more turns and you guys probably would have taken the main VL since we only had 75mm Shermans there. And I did nominate the daisy chains mines as our MVP on our message board. Though the mud totally killed our tank reserves. Even if we fast moved our last reserves as soon as we got them they would not have made it to the road in time. A larger opening at that choke point and less mud would have made it a better battle but all in all it came out pretty darn even.
13.
quote:
Originally posted by ciks: I like the 57mm/6pdr AT guns very much. (Brit version has tungsten rounds, so it cost 2-3 points more the US version) ]

I third this opinion. The 57 is definitely the way to go for ambushes. During Gordon's Rumble II battle I controlled a 57mm that took out a King Tiger with a flank shot before a 76mm could fire near me. Then a Panther fast moved down the road and the 76 couldn't acquire a shot fast enough because of its slower manuevering. I've also managed to take out a JadgTiger from the flank with a 57 during a scenario. Now that was a huge bonus.
