noob Posted September 4, 2011 Share Posted September 4, 2011 When Axis squads are split using the Assault Team button the MP 40's and MP 44's are moved into one team and the MG 42 is moved into the other, effectively creating a short ranged weapons team and a long ranged weapons team, when this is applied to a US Parachute squad the same thing happens with one exception, the short ranged weapons team has 2 Tommy guns and 2 Garands and the long ranged weapons team has 6 Garands, 1 30 Cal and 1 sniper rifle. My question is, why doesn't the Parachute squad's short ranged weapons team have 2 Tommy guns and 2 Carbines, given that the Carbine has a shorter effective range than the Garand ? 0 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I made a mistake, there are 12 men in a Parachute squad, 2 with Tommy guns, 2 with Carbines, 1 with a 30 cal, 1 with a Sniper rifle or Bazooka and 6 with Garands so the short ranged team should be 2 Tommys and 2 Carbines and not 2 Tommys and 2 Garands. 0 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

(IIRC the zook generally doesn't go with the Assault squad.) Fredrock1957 Posted September 4, 2011 Share Posted September 4, 2011 I thought the Carbines (because of the weight) were assigned to the troops that carry the extra ammo for the .30 Cal MG.
