CMBN grid mods not working for me.

Recommended Posts

I've tried to install a couple of grid mods for CMBN without success. They are:

- Bil_s_Ground-Gridded

- Niessuh_outer_grid

Here's what I've tried:

- I read the manual as well as the 'How To Install Mods' sticky.

- Tried a few searches for similar issues.

- Created a 'Z' folder in 'Data'.

- Exited and restarted CMBN every time I make any change.

- Copied the Niessuh_outer_grid.brz file to the 'Z' folder.

- Removed the above, unzipped and copied Bil's folder there.

- Then tried copying the contents of Bil's folder directly to 'Z'.

- Uninstalled the CMBN demo (in case it interfered with the purchased version).

- Removed any previously exploded files from the Mod Tools directory structure.

- Zoomed in and zoomed out.

- Rebooted the damn computer.

I have a sound mod that works like a charm, but these graphics sure don't. I suspect some sort of graphics caching thing going on with Windows 7-64 bit and CMBN. I'm wondering if anyone else is having these issues.

Oh, and the graphics mods work great in CMAK/CMBB.

Make sure all the files are unzipped and down to the brz extension. You shouldn't have to reboot or mess around with the mod tools. . Also, make sure there are no other terrain mods in your data folder or z folder. Good luck!

Well . . .

Embarrassingly enough, it turned out to interfere with the only other graphics mod I had, namely Veins_TerrainDesaturation.

If I get some time, maybe I'll add a grid to Vein's.

It just so happens you're in luck, check out this grid mod: http://www.battlefront.com/community/showthread.php?t=98468

Works fine with veins terrain, instructions in the thread.

Thanks!

Update: Installed it, worked OK, but had a few issues so . . .

I'm now going in and editing vein's terrain and adding 128x128 grids directly to the .bmp files.

Am using the following technique:

. . . and it works like a charm for me.
