A demo game that ran just fine on the old drivers got me all kinds of crazy stuff with hte new on and a message stating Windows was sutting down to prevent damage to my computer. Snarker Posted November 30, 2004 Author Share Posted November 30, 2004 Just out of curiosity, do you read the posts you reply to? :confused: This thread is a warning, as I am trying to point out that the brand spanky new driver, approved by MS, is acting up in a seriously evil manner with software THAT PREVIOUSLY WORKED WITH THE OLD DRIVER. Acted up badly enough that Windows reported it successfully fixed a serious operating system error somehow involving the nVidia driver and would I be nice enough to send them the specifics? He doesn't want to see others trash their operating system. He found this while you were insulting him (note the bold): This following are changes made and issues resolved since driver version 66.93: • Added new Performance and Quality option—Negative LOD bias This control lets the user manually set negative LOD bias to “clamp” for applications that automatically enable anisotropic filtering. Applications sometimes use negative LOD bias to sharpen texture filtering. This sharpens the stationary image but introduces aliasing when the scene is in motion. Because anisotropic filtering provides texture sharpening without unwanted aliasing, it is desirable to clamp LOD bias when anisotropic filtering is enabled. Albion Posted December 2, 2004 Share Posted December 2, 2004 Hi All I had a similar problem with game crashing when I installed new 66.93 drivers for my nvidia card.I rolled back with XP and the problems were sorted out.The problem I have now is when I boot up Cmbb,the screen resolution has resorted to 800x600.This is lower than I play the game.I`ve uninstalled the game and reinstalled it to try and get screen resolution page up all to no avail.All I ended up doing was wasting a night downloading patches (I have CDV version),and reinstalling over 1Gig of mods.If anyone out there could point me in the right direction to get my screen resolution in game higher,it would be very much appreciated. Cheers Try going into your CMAK file, find and delete "Combat Mission AK Pref" icon. When you restart the game it should ask you which screen resolution you wish to play in.
