JBond
Hey there, I reinstalled CMBO ever since I went to Win2k, and for some reason, every time I start it up, the Screen immediately goes scrambled, unreadable text and I just see the initial white box fly across the screen. I've tried it on 2 different motherboards..and multiple reformats. I'm running the 12.90 Detonator drivers. My system is... 1.33 Ghz Athlon running at 1.5 Ghz 150 FSB x 10x Multiplier EPoX 8K7A Motherboard 256MB Crucial PC2100 DDR Ram ELSA Gladiac Geforce 2 GTS 32mb 52x CDROM Creative SBLive! Schrullenhaft
Under Windows 2000 NVidia chips show white as a transparency in 2D screens (or something to that effect). The quick solution to this is to ESC to the desktop and maximize CM again, you should be able to read everything again. Sometimes it may be necessary to repeat this, especially once you've completed a game and come back to a 2D screen (AAR, scenario listing, etc.). You may want to also try out the latest NVidia Beta drivers (v. 14.70). 3D Chipset: http://www.3dchipset.com/beta/nvidia/1470/win-2k.html Guru 3D (go to 'Downloads' in left hand column, 'Download Videocard drivers', 'nVidia drivers for GeForcce & TNT videocards'): http://www.guru3d.com
Sitzkrieg
Try the 14.60 beta drivers available at 3D Chipset. They clean up all text problems, with or without anti-aliasing, at least in my installation. I'm using a Geforce 256 on Win2K Pro SP2 with DirectX 8. Hope this helps.
