WallysWorld
I remember watching this when it was first broadcast in 1996 on PBS and a few more times when it was repeated. A fantastic series in the same vein as Ken Burns' "Civil War" series. I highly recommend it. It's a great pity that PBS never released it in DVD. The Youtube user 'theolperfessor' has uploaded the entire series. Here is the first video of the series: PBS' "The Great War and the Shaping of the Twentieth Century"
Bill101
Thanks for the link! I've been enjoying the ANZAC series on youtube over the last few weeks, and if you've not seen it I strongly recommend it. Just search for ANZAC episode and you'll find it.
lettowvorbeck
I wish Netflix would get the BBC's 26 episode "The Great War" on DVD. Undoubtedly some of the 1960s era interpretations are dated, but it is widely considered the best video history of the war. At least I assume it was made available at some time on Region 1 or Region free formats.
alicewei
I am not seeing any replays at all in my WW1 PBEM games; just a blank screen saying "preparing replay" for 5 minutes or so, before jumping to my turn. I am getting no feedback on enemy movements and attacks which is quite a disadvantage. I get this with both 1.00 and 1.01, but only on my laptop running Win 7 64bit, not on my desktop running Win XP.
