CanuckGamer
One of the issues I always encounter with online play is connecting up and the requirement of opening up ports. Fortunately, I have been able to use Hamachi successfully for a number of games. I hope to be able to use Hamachi for Combat Mission Battle for Normandy and have been debating about purchasing TOW Kursk because it covers the Russian front. I'm wondering if anyone has used Hamachi for TOW Kursk? Thanks.
Sneaksie
Russian players use Hamachi for all ToW games (and voice chat during battle). There is also a Hamachi server in Steam ToW group (http://steamcommunity.com/groups/Theatre_of_war/announcements/detail/1135103406846188779). Bayonet
All attempts to port forward were unsuccessful and frustrating so I've been trying to make an MP session with a friend using Hamachi. I've noticed that once Hamachi is on, I have no trouble setting up a game as host,(that usual annoying message doesn't show) but my friend either: A) Sees me in the server list, but I'm grey and unjoinable, When attempting to join via Direct IP using my "Hamachi I.P.", he times out. What is the proper procedure for using Hamachi? Does the host put up a LAN game or internet? Do clients look under Lan or internet? Does Hamchi work for Tow2Africa? We experienced difficulty with Kursk as I have Caen and he doesn't, but we both have Afrika with centauro DLC. Versions were the same and both were Steam copies.
