lettowvorbeck
Let's say you make the v-shaped two sided trenches. The tile is surrounded by 8 others. Do the trenches protect only from attacks from the three tiles in the immediate front or do they also help with the two on each side (for a total of 5 out of the 8 surrounding tiles) leaving just the three rear tiles vulnerable? crispy131313
5 of 8. If ever in doubt right click on the entrenchment for it's properties and it will say all the sides it defends. ie. North, North-East etc.
Bill101
That's correct, but being entrenched itself also gives you some protection. Nevertheless, if attacked in the rear then you won't benefit from the extra bonuses to your combat factor that the existence of the trench provides. So, if the enemy start to breakthrough and outflank you, you may need to change your facing, retire, or go boldly into a counterattack!
