Ammo Acquire

Gents,

I'm trying to sort the correct load-out for my guys. I've found that the ammo bars for the units seem to follow this pattern: the left-most ammo bars correspond to 5.45mm ammo; the linked ammo bar correspond to 7.62x39 AND 7.62x54R ammo. That covers most (if not all) of the Soviet small arms.

Has anyone tried figuring out which ammo bars correspond to which Muj ammo?

Thanks,

Ken

I think that the ammo bars are the same for all factions, starting with the 5.45mm on the left then the 7.62, rifle grenades, hand grenades.

This is where my frequent request for tool-tips comes in. The UI is sorely lacking in providing the player with information on the type of ammo that goes with a particular weapon, and what type of ammo is contained within each ammo bar.

Yeah, tooltips would be great. Under the name of the weapon (great addition, btw), having the ammo the weapon uses would be nice. A tooltip for the ammo bars so that it shows the number and type of rounds would also be huge. That full bar for grenades for a single man may mean a different thing than a full bar for grenades for a USMC squad. (Actually, I _think_ it does mean a different absolute number. Shrug.)

All of this is tracked in the game. The player wouldn't have more control, merely a more informative interface.

This would be a great port over to the rest of the CMx2 line.

A brief discussion of the different doctrines of the different nationalities would also be great. I keep asking "why do these guy have this sort of load-out or numbers?" There must be a logical reason for the squad sizes and weapons, and why when certain vehicles dismount, they leave a driver but noone to man the HMG... It makes no logical (common)sense. But, some great military committee must have had a reason.
