TufenHuden
I tried downloading a sprite and the Grisoft-AVG .ver-07 I guess caught it and a window came up Virus detected came up-so I did a virus scan and it did state that it was deleted but that window still pops up-it's in the virus vault-but it wasn't before-is it still there and creating havoc- my PC still running fine except that going on-any ideas?-it's a trojan horse downloader.
Schrullenhaft
Does your anti-virus provide a means of 'quarantining' or at least deleting the infected file ? Try deleting the file in whatever manner you can and see if that resolves your issue.
TufenHuden
I've tried Google search-never heard of this virus C:WINDOWS\Temp\tmp7tmpTrojan horse Downloader.Agent.9.D Norton's or AVG-gisoft never heard of it but a window pops up with that above I go to AVG icon in my task bar and activate it then go back again and minimize AVG then window goes away my PC runs fine but this is annoying-if both top AV-Co's never heard of it-maybe AVG planted it to buy there registered version-they don't offer free one anymore-unless I'm looking in the wrong place. Schrullenhaft
Unfortunately there's no universal naming scheme for viruses and their variants. While most companies get the names similar, not all viruses will be named consistently between vendors. This seems especially true of many Trojan/zombie viruses. The Grisoft website didn't give a definition for the "Trojan horse Downloader.Agent.9.D". However it seems that they do provide a Backdoor Trojan remover (the "utility" link) which may work.
TufenHuden
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Well know this pesty thing is in the virus vault-what I don't understand is why do I get that window to appear each time I start up my PC-then I 1st launch AVG at taskbar icon then I comeback and miminize it and it goes away-since it's in the vault-why is it appearing.
Schrullenhaft
I'm not sure why it keeps warning you about the virus. Does the "vault" have a delete file capability ? If it does, then use it to delete the file and see if the error goes away.
TufenHuden
It won't delete it in the AVG free version....
Schrullenhaft
Locate the file and manually delete it. Otherwise you may need to purchase a full functioning anti-virus program. You can run an online check from Symantec (and there are others). It doesn't remove the virus, but it will scan your system to see what Symantec recognizes (which should be fairly comprehensive).
