Soft build limits - Allied IA went infantry crazy

Recommended Posts

Hi to all,

I'm richmi and I'm new at the forum. I'd like just to share my experience with the game.

After more than a year I've returned to a SC2 Blitzkrieg global campaign game I left open after the conquest of Russia and whole Pacific cca in mid '44.

I've found the US forces in pacific very passive through the whole game, not trying to counter or at least harras the IJN on their sightseing cruise towards the West coast of the USA. In the Atlantic ruled by Kriegsmarine, US made just few symbolic attempts to invade British Isles.

So what was left to try, was to invade the USA. Thanks to the surrender of Commonwealth after taking over India, I was able to secure New Foundland before US forces arrived, and gained a changing station. Japan took over Anchorage and Italian forces over Columbia. Axis than managed to gain valuable part of Canada, controlled the Carribean, got a grip in San Francisco. With Amphibious transports about to land in Florida and Louisiana the game ended in spring 1946, revealing the US units waiting for me. During the fights in Canada i noticed a too vast numbers of us armies, but took it like - ok, you're invading US what have you expected. But after the map revealed - nearly a half of the US continent was filled with army infantry units :D with purchase counter on -59. (try to post a prinscreen later). With so much resources I wonder why the Allied AI did just to sit and watch the Axis to take over the world. So for the next time I'm a bit worried to allow the soft build limits. I also hope not to encounter such behaviour in the SC - GLOBAL CONFLICT.

Anyway, thaks for a GREAT game Hubert and guys. You saved me after finishing Panzer General for...I don't know how many times it was... :o

Thanks richmi and not to worry in that SC Global Conflict is pretty much the end result of an almost additional 4 years of development. Long story short the game will provide much more of a challenge than the global campaign that was released with SC2 Blitzkrieg :)
