JGarvey
Please help a newbie Can anyone tell me how to change the resolution of the game once you have played it? There are a ton of mods out there. Which ones are 'recommended' and which ones aren't? How do you install maps/scenarios/campaigns, and are there web sites to them? Many thanks, Jim Garvey
Schrullenhaft
When you first launched CM you should have seen a black screen with some white/blue text telling you what the resolution and refresh rate were. If you hit the Enter key or clicked the "Select" button on the screen, then CM used this resolution and stored the info in the Combat Mission Bynd Ovr Prefs file (found in the root of the CM directory/folder). If you want to change resolutions you will need to delete this file and you will be prompted with the resolution selection screen again. To select another resolution you can click the "Next" button or let the screen sit for several seconds before it automatically swithes resolutions/refresh rates. The maximum resolution that will come up in this process will be your current desktop resolution (i.e. - if you're running at 1024 x 768 at 75Hz, then you won't see 1280 x 1024 and above, etc.). Scenarios and operations can be copied to the (assuming a PC) C:\PROGRAM FILES\CMBO\SCENARIOS directory. There are several sources for scenarios. One popular one is CMHQ http://combathq.thegamers.net/ ASL for CM (SL/ASL scenarios/maps converted for CM): http://w1.312.telia.com/~u31213280/index.htm There are quite a few other sources too, especially for mods. Look around the main forum and you'll see posts from a number of mod makers.
