gibsonm
Hi, Just wondering if the Mac version is carbon compliant so I can run it properly with OS X? ------------------ Regards, Mark:-{) Anxiously awaiting the G4 PowerBook
Guest Big Time Software
No, because the 3D code is based on Apple's RAVE which is not Carbon compliant. Charles
pford
Bummer. Do you know how well it runs under MacOS X? If the Mac sales do well, what are the chances of moving to OpenGL? If you are not too busy, what is the problem with RAVE (why is it not carbon) other than Apple dropping support? And last, since I have now past the pest threshold, did you get the 3DFX contact info re: VooDoo3 Rave?
Guest Big Time Software
We'll eventually migrate to OpenGL for the Mac version but I don't know when. RAVE is an orphaned technology at Apple, and isn't Carbon-compliant itself. So any software that uses it is, by definition, not Carbon-compliant either. Yes we're in touch with 3Dfx. gibsonm
OK. So it will run in the Blue Box? Its a pity it wont take full advantage of OS X but I guess as long as it runs that's fine. I have no doubt you will port it when you get a chance. BTW: I'm happy to be a test bunny when the Client Beta is released (NY Macworld ?). I have a server running OS X but it's not quite the same thing. I'll try it once my package arrives "down under". ------------------ Regards, Mark:-{) Anxiously awaiting the G4 PowerBook
