E-license and my new cpu question...

Recommended Posts

Well, my wife is letting me get a new quad core cpu for the mobo. I didnt even have to make any promises...hmmm, that makes me nervous...

Ahem...anyway, was wondering if I have to un-license my SC2 and CMSF games before I install the cpu, then re-license everything. The motherboard is not changing, but eventually the ram and video card will be up-graded too. Any issues? Thanks...

I would suggest UNLICENSING BEFORE making any changes. Once you've made the hardware changes, then license the games again. If there is going to be further hardware changes at a later date, then UNLICENSE again before making those upgrades.

The eLicense activation DOES make note of the hardware in the computer so that the license isn't "moved" to another computer. When you upgrade some components, then it appears as if the software has been moved and eLicense won't allow the game(s) to run.
