Apocalypse 31
Was messing around in the editor and trying to get a vehicle to follow a specific path (road, for example) Just cannot get it to work. Any tips?
Field Marshal Blücher
Could you be more specific about what steps you've taken, and where you've had problems? It's kind of difficult to tell what is causing you problems. Is the vehicle its own AI group, or is it part of a larger one?
SlapHappy
Mike I have done this in some experimental BAKED scenarios. Use many, many waypoints and watch the movement speed. PAUSE feature is also useful here, especially if you are trying to move a column.
Apocalypse 31
I'm trying to get an AI vehicle to follow a path. I set it using the ORDERS and filled in tiles to where it should be going. No luck at all.
Field Marshal Blücher
One thing to always check is that you used the correct AI plan. I always mess this up, and put my Red AI orders in "Blue Plan 1" or something like that. Did you set the "Exit Before" and "Exit After" times to the correct amount? Did you give each tile its own order in the drop-down menu?
Apocalypse 31
What exactly are Exit Before and Exit After functions?
Sergei
Manual says: The “Exit Before” option causes the Group to try very hard to get to the next Order before the specified time is reached. This does not mean the Group will do it, just that it will try. If it has taken excessive casualties, is immobilized or heavily engaged it may blow the set “Exit Before” time. The “Exit After” option does the opposite by telling the Group to stay at the current Map Zone until the specified time is reached. With this setting a Group never moves on to the next Order before the “Exit After” time is reached. These two options allow for some reasonable level of coordination between Groups.
