gibsonm
Hi, This machine has just been announced here in Aust: 1GHz PowerPC G4, 1MB L3 & 256K L2 cache, 133MHz system bus, 512MB SDRAM memory, 60GB Ultra ATA hard drive, SuperDrive (DVD-R/CD-RW), ATI Mobility Radeon 9000 w/64 MB DDR video memory, Gigabit Ethernet, 56K internal modem, 1 FireWire and 2 USB ports and AirPort Included. It makes my 500MHz machine look pretty sad. It will boot into OS 9 (so no issues with Classic - but then again with these specs maybe Classic is fine) but my question relates to the video. Obviously 64Mb is better than the current 8Mb but does anyone know anything about the quality of the Radeon 9000? CMBB won't run in classic so far as I know-- it seems you have to be booted into 9. The next question is whether to get one of the brand new 1 GHz ones or get remaining stock on the 800 MHz ones that have been marked down.

chrisl
So has anybody got one of these and verified that CMBB runs on it yet?
Jarmo
I saw a thread where someone couldn't get CM to run with Radeon 9000, almost the same card as in the PBook. But no further info.

Gyrene
I'll check to see if CMBB will run on the new PB's (Which do still boot into OS9) and the Radeon 9000 towers (Dual 1ghz) at work tomorrow, I'll have a report soon. Any other Macs you'd like me to try this on? I might give the new iBooks a go also. Gyrene

Also, has it been demonstrated to work on the slightly older Powerbooks (the 667 and 800 with the Radeon 7500)? I haven't seen any complaints, so I would guess it does. I'm on the verge of upgrading from my old Wallstreet and would hate to not be able to play CMBB.
