G B Scurlock
I just realised I have a 8.6 version driver in my ATI Radeon HD 2400 card. I want to update to the 8.11 version. When I download and run the update I get a message saying that there is no driver found compatible with my hardware or something like that. Do I have to delete the old driver before installing the new one?
Schrullenhaft
Generally speaking it's a good idea to uninstall previous drivers/control panels before installing new ones. However not doing that shouldn't have given you the error that you're seeing. I assume that your Radeon HD 2400 is a PCIe card, is that correct ? If it isn't and it is an AGP card (which is probably pretty rare, if they exist), you may need to get updates from the specific card manufacturer's website. The drivers listed on ATI/AMD's site specifically mention that the HD 2400 is a PCIe offering when selecting drivers to download. Are you using Windows XP or Vista ?
