Taki
Today i had my First enjoyment in playing QB on CMSF. First the good things. After setting up a Small Sized Game with almost anything Random (expcept Fitness, Moral, Ammo etc.) we started playing. Game almost ran lagfree and was about taking two Capture Zones. 1 with 2 Stars and one with 3 Stars (dont know what that means). Equipment: I had about 3 Squads within BMP-1C with RPG-7V1 Equiped. They had those normal 85mm and thermobaric Rounds. i fought against a Recon Platoon 1 "Stormplatoon" and a Regular one. There where about 2 Platoons (8 bradleys) on the Enemy site with ERA Armour and 4 HMVVW. Gametime was about 25 Minutes and more then 25 Minutes overtime when i quit. I planned for about 25 Minutes Gametime +/-5 Minutes. So i drove over the Field and controlled both of the Objectives early in the Game. My enemys Javelin Platoons on Overwatchpositions killed lots of my BMP-1C stationary and on the move. I everthing would be more realistic then i would have wiped out my Enemy after 20 Minutes. But it didnt happen. My RPG-7 hit when Enemy was Stationary. About 50% of them. But some US-Units are plain overmodelled. Bradleys took Hits even in the Back where no ERA is and they didnt had a Scratch. o-O My Units gone absolutly wild and broke after a Single 5.56mm Bullet flew over their Head. There are some Points i want to have your Opinions on that is: 1. RPG-7V1 with diffrent Rocketversions against Bradleys: I thing that they overall Perform well. Even Conscripts and Green Troops use them well. Hitting Rate is tad to high and there are duds missing or wrong use of them (no unlocking of the Rocket Head). Sucess rate in hitting is too high for my taste but on the other hand is the dmg they do too low. 2. Bradley Reaction vs. BMP-1C Reaction Okay okay, the US-Boys have all that fancy hyper super electro tec stuff and they have good situation awarness, training and such stuff but those BMP are totally out of the way. They had seen the Pos of a Brad early on and knew where to search. Distance was about 60m and Target ARc was layed very narrow on the target. They need almost 30sec to spot that Bradley and almost as long to react (wich they didnt because Brad turned his Turret and whacked them. My Opinion is that the BMP-1 and 2 spotting cababilities and reactiontimes are waaaaaaaay to long. Okay, they are no SOTA but they are not drriven by blind dumb drunken russian uncons. Overall it was fun to play. Im no Syria Fanboy and like to play with the US-Side but that MP Quick Battle changed my Piont of view. Even when concidering the US Boys C2, Training, SA Equipment and so on i really got that feeling that they Perform too good against Syrian Army. On the other Hand are the short mission times wich forces the US Troops more like rushing then they would do in real life. also their airassets are more usefull i guess. My request: please let us choose longer Mission times and overlook/tweak some of the units plz. Sry for my bad english as im from germany. u did a great game but you could make it even better. i enjoyed playing QB as i will further on. hope some other ppl tell about their quickbattle experience. Its whole diffrent then playing the US Side in a Singleplayer Match.

stikkypixie
What was the experience of your troops? Did they have any bonuses (+1 morale, etc...)? In my experience that can be the difference between terminator-like killing machines and well ... not-so terminator-like killing machines. Bad luck on the RPG, but I guess you have to remember that maybe the round didn't hit anything important. Also there are different types of ammo for the RPG, if your guys were using HE rounds than I don't think you can knock out a Bradley. Agree on the length of the game! But look at it from the bright side, at least you got a fair mix of forces from the QB generator
CogNative
My request: please let us choose longer Mission times and overlook/tweak some of the units plz. The QB generator is scheduled to be improved. See thread: "QuickBattle tweaks" Blue guys get good stuff but even now the QuickBattles can be fun & interesting for casual players like myself. Some people in these forums are very serious players and knowledgeable about how the game should reflect reality. You may also want to check out the thread "Walls, Windows and other assorted MOUT problems". Please excuse my English as yours is better than mine (missinginreality nailed it) and i live here although my Great Grand Paw came from Belgium... so blame them:D CogNative
Taki
Yes, i read the Dissucions u mentioned above. I think we could use some QB Fixes as well as some overlooking on the Syrian Side. My Units where Conscripts but weighting all the Factors there where still some weird things happening (the RPG used standard HEAT ROunds, no HE). There are some big problems my opponent had that "Normal Dude" is also mentioning in the MOUT problems threat for the blue side. so overall its "balanced" somehow. Anyway i think that those BMP need some overwork in their spotting capbabilities and reaction time. In game they are almost useless atm.
