MG TOW
Will I be able to retire units in a campaign to the force pool to skip a battle and then still see this same unit sitting there to be selected again for a subsequent battle. In tow 1 if you pulled a unit off your active force back to the roster it disappeared for good.So there was no way to have a closed OOB and follow heroic sub units from battle to battle with a preset force pool. Sneaksie
In ToW1 after Moscow campaign patch units disappeared from the roster only in certain circumstances, normally they are left there for the rest of the campaign. Main reason for unit not appearing in the roster is that this unit type isn't allowed in next mission. After this mission you'll be able to take them again (if next mission permits them of course). The other reason are units becoming obsolete (but you can see 'obsolete' label on the unit icon and transfer experienced crewmembers to other unit). GlobalExplorer
I think you did not answer the question, gundolf wanted to know about TOW2. A lot of people were dissappointed in TOWs lack of any meaningful persistent campaign structure, including the disregard for force pools carried over between battles, and it's a crucial question if you are going to repeat the same mistakes. Or in other words, if the TOW campaign structure is kept, it will only please the action crowd.
Arzok
It is possible to retire units in a battle and selecting this same unit for the next battle, in a campaign, in TOW 1 That depends how the campaign is made, but it is the normal way.
