Question about license

Fenix

Recommended Posts

Hi, I've just downloaded Marines (at last!!!) and I've seen all the stuff of the license key, having to activate when i first run Marines and all that. As this is a license question, I'm not sure if this post should go here or in the Technical Support Subforum, so if I missed the place, I'm really sorry.

Well, I work in a cibercafe, and as i have plenty of free time there, I ussually take some of my games to play in there, sometimes CMSF. The PCs are configured to delete any changes made after reboot, so none of the games I install remain there. My question is: if i store my Marines instalation file in a CD and install it in one of the PCs of my jobplace, will I have to do all the license thing again, or one activation is just enough? If I have to, is there a limit on how many times I can install it? I know my questions may sound a little strange, but CMSF is one of my favourite games and I like to play a battle or two when I have the chance.

That's all, thanks for your time :)

AFAIK you have to manually unlicense the game before the computer wipes the install.

Otherwise the elicense servers will assume that that install is still sitting there licensed and ready to play and won't let you take yet another license next time.

Same when you wipe a harddrive or similar.

hoolaman is correct. In your specific situation when anything you make is deleted each day, you would have to make sure that you unlicense the game before leaving. This will preserve your key for future activations.

Each key allows you to have the game *activated* on up to two PCs at the same time. (There is no limit as to how often you can install games, but only two of them will actually run). You only have to activate a game once (not every time you play). Upon activation one activation of the key is "fingerprinted" to your PC and cannot be used elsewhere until you *unlicense*.

This, and much more, is explained in detail under www.battlefront.com/faq

(look at the eLicense FAQ)
