John Kettler
I don't normally think of Egypt as a nation with a big land mine problem, figuring most of the WW II stuff was largely dudded by time, though the Italian Red Devil grenades (thrown and also fired by the Brixia) seem to make the news now and again. http://www.lonesentry.com/articles/ttt07/italian-45mm-mortar.html Turns out this is big time wrong. Not only is this a major issue, it's interfering with energy development, and Egypt is becoming a petroleum and natural gas producer. Major rethink in progress on worth of "useless" Qattara Depression! http://www.spiegel.de/international/world/0,1518,540756,00.html Regards, John Kettler
