Extracting broken bayonet after speakers "suicide"

Recommended Posts

I have one of those computer desks with an elevated small area on which the monitor (in my case lampshade iMac) and speakers go. Mine are the spherical clear ones which were an upgrade, and they fit, barely, on said monitor stand, to either side of the "snowball" housing the CPU. Sadly, they got bumped or pulled off several times, first bending, then breaking the bayonet jack on the speaker. Sure wish I'd learned about Velcroing them down before this happened, but what's done is done. How do I get the jack tip out of the port, though? As it is,

my built-in speaker is disabled, and I haven't found my headset yet following a crash move. The good news? A kind soul is giving me a new set of speakers, which I understand are pretty rare now.

Can anyone help me clear the way for my replacement speakers?

Regards,

John Kettler
