De M Posted July 9, 2008 Share Posted July 9, 2008 Man, I read this whole topic, and I can only say sh*t. I cant even play my CMAK with my 32-bit Vista. I've tried to install new drivers to my videocard (ATI Radeon HD 3850), I've tried to switch off Anti-Aliasing from my Catalyst Control Center, and I've tried Win XP- and 98 -compatible mode. None of those did work. I can't switch videocard, because I don't own older videocard, and I understand nothing about compiling computers. After I load a scenario my monitor goes black, and it blinks for a quarter of a second. Man, I don't even know is this right place to post this. Madmatt Posted July 9, 2008 Share Posted July 9, 2008 You said you installed *new* drivers but didnt say what version specifically. Have you tried the new Catalyst 8.6 drivers yet? Another thing to be careful of is that ATI drivers are VERY picky about how you install them. They always work best if you first totally uninstall and remove them and THEN install the latest version. They tend to not work as well if you simply update them from one version to another. There are a variety of 3rd party driver cleaner programs out that help with this exact issue, so I would suggest using one. One other thing to try is to locate and delete your Combat Mission AK Prefs file. This will reset your various game settings and should be done whenever you install new hardware or an OS. That file should be in yoru CMAK folder but since Vista likes to try and manage game files all on its own, i suggest doing a search throughout your PC for that file in other places as well, just to be safe. I tried installing in XP , 2K and Vista and ALL available drivers from ATI site zip... game blinks and then locks up. Whatever is the reason, it lies with the hardware... raz_atoth Posted July 17, 2008 Share Posted July 17, 2008 For what it's worth,it's not a hardware problem,but a driver related problem.I own an ATI Radeon 2900 pro card and CM works.The only problem is that it works only with some older drivers.Catalyst 7.9 works-but without fog,Catalyst 7.10 and 7.11 works just as expected-including fog.Any other driver higher than 7.11 simply locks up the screen when trying to play CM. 0 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
