AZGungHo
I'm not sure this is the right place for this - but I recently installed the new free version of AVG. Today I also installed FireFox 3. Now I can't start PDE, I keep getting a warning from AVG saying the file is infected with a Trojan Horse Virus. I'm not sure what to do. I click heal and nothing happens, ignore doesn't let it start either. I'm thinking of telling it remove the threat, but does that mean the file will be removed? Any thoughts out there? I'm bummed that I can't play PDE - my favorite game!
AZGungHo
Okay - here's an update. I tried starting it again and clicked ignore, then got a message saying I had to reboot the computer to update the registration for PDE, did so and the same thing is still happening! I'm lost!
Moon
I've seen something like this once with AVG where it incorrectly classified a program library as virus. The next update by AVG fixed the problem. Maybe re-run AVG updates and see if that helps? Martin
Moon
If it doesn't, the workaround for now is to exclude .cpl file type from scannable files in your AVG configuration. We have informed AVG already about the problem. Martin
Hubert Cater
AZGungHo, For the temporary workaround, launch the main AVG program and then go to Tools->Advanced Settings->Resident Shield->Advanced Settings From there you should see an entry with the text "Always scan files with the following extensions:" Simply remove the entry for .cpl file type as Martin described above and then hit 'Apply'. It should then run the game as expected. Hubert
