JohnO
What is the gentleman's policy for using other peoples maps that they made for scenarios? Is it a no-no or players don't care? I see some maps I like and have ideas for scenarios using their maps. JohnO
rune
a no-no without their permission. I know I want to be asked if mine are used. Rune
Michael Dorosh
Usually an email to the designer will get you permission though, especially if you promise a credit in the scenario briefing.
JohnO
Thanks guys. I guess I will have to put my artistic skills to use then and start working on my map for the scenario I'm working on Stand by for all my questions about making a map JohnO
Sergei
To me the gentleman's policy is that someone who wishes to use my maps will try to contact me (but if that fails, I generally approve it). Mainly because I'd like to see the new scenario. I don't mind for my maps to be re-used, as long as credit is given. I think many designers think along the same lines, of course the bugger is in deciding if this or that map maker who can't be contacted or is anonymous thinks the other way. Legally though the end user license agreement (probably) defines that anything made with the editor is the property of BFC. As are the souls of the designer's daughters.
