Douglas Rudd
Caught this on another forum. Seeing how I do not have Vista or a 8xxx series card, I cannot tell if this will help those with CMSF problems. Vista Patch
Tobe
I'll try this tonight to see if it helps. If anyone is interested there's another Vista "performance and reliability" patch was released by MS today too: Vista Performance and Reliability Patch I haven't yet tried this or the one mentioned above, so I don't know if they will have any affect on CMSF.
Mercury
Added the patch then retried - looked promising, especially when I altered the affinity but sadly for my system it then came back to the same problem - mouse lag, leaving a nice trail of green arrows and a blank top half of the screen as soon as you go to the battlefield. <big sigh>
Douglas Rudd
Just a thought, tried new mouse drivers, if any?
Mercury
Got the most up to date drivers...could that affect the blank screen where there should be a 3D battlefield?
Douglas Rudd
One time on Deus Ex, I had game lag real bad. Went through several older drivers for my video card, game still lagged. After trying them, I called tech support, told what I had done was told to A: Look for new sound card drivers, or B: New mouse drivers. Sound card was current, mouse was not. Updated mouse, game ran great. I'm no expert on PCs, but when something does not work right I will update everything I can, or use older versions of drivers.
Tobe
Neither of these Vista patches made any difference in CMSF for me. Still getting a poor framerate with the 8800. Oh well, may have to wait for 1.03...
peleprodigy
i'm still holding out for 1.02 to fix the 8800 bug.
