hejhog
when reskinning vehicles is it necessary to reskin all the skin1, skin2 etc files to be similar- so that at different distances the paint scheme doesn't refer back to the old skin? i've got my new "summer 3" added, but only works close up. also, how many skins could be added? if i go to summer300 is it gonna work? it would be cool to have each vehicle have it's own paint job i think. rofl
You must replace all of them, same for wheels and tracks. Just resize them in PS from 512 to 256, 128,...

Gnasher
Looks nice! Is there a tutorial on skinning out there I can think of a few vehicles I'd like to do customised skins for?

hejhog
thanks guys! i don't know of any tutorial, but first you have to download the SFS file extractor from Dr.Jones. after extracting all these (it took me a couple of weeks to figure out how) you'll need something like Irfanview (another program) to change to files to real TGA files. after that, it's a breeze, since most vehicles seem to have only a couple of TGA files to represent them... which is easier than back and forth a la CM series. Since all vehicles have a winter paint scheme, getting a base image for PSP is really easy... You can also add new vehicle skins to the "library" for each vehicle, this is pretty simple too- once the SFS files are decoded, you'll find most data is in text files. You can add new ammo loadouts, new inf squads, etc too. edit: that also makes it really easy to screw up the game too heh
