Poilu
A pal and I are engaged in a PBEM of one of the Stalingrad Pack scenarios, Into the Void. We've been moving along just fine up to now, but we've hit an odd glitch now on turn 11. For some reason I can watch the movie without a problem, but though it's showing 60 seconds, the DONE button is never displayed (I should be plotting my move after the movie). I've waited a couple minutes, thinking it might be late impacting arty. I thought the file might have been corrupted, so he rezipped his original and resent it. Same thing. He's tried rerunning it too to no avail. We're both patched up to version 1.01. If you'd like I could e-mail the problem turn to you and you can see if there's a fix. I don't know what else to do. It would be a shame have to leave it, as it's a fine battle. Thanks for your help, Poilu
WWB
Hmm, interesting. Do you still have the 1.0 executeable and some saved games from then? You could try going back to 1.0 and see if that helps. WWB
Poilu
Boy do I feel dumb now. My bud and I tried redoing the turn from a phase or two previous. That worked, even though I had to wait about 45 seconds after the 60 seconds was displayed. Cool, I thought, but then I got to wondering if I'd waited long enough on the turn I was complaining about. Ran it, and it displayed the DONE button 90 seconds after it showed 60 seconds. I don't know what the damn thing is thinking, but impatience is clearly a vice in this business. The scenario is pretty large (1.3 Meg on this particular phase), and my machine is pretty dated (P2-233, 256M Ram, 32M video card), so maybe the old girl is just bogging down a bit much? Thanks for the consideration, Poilu
Ellros
Yup, a 233 is going to be very slow with CMBB. You will want to avoid the larger scenarios unless you want to wait a while for a turn to process
WWB
Yeah, I suspect it is the machine. I did run it on a 233 once, it was quite slow, and that was a small battle. WWB
