  1. Boy do I feel dumb now. My bud and I tried redoing the turn from a phase or two previous. That worked, even though I had to wait about 45 seconds after the 60 seconds was displayed. Cool, I thought, but then I got to wondering if I'd waited long enough on the turn I was complaining about. Ran it, and it displayed the DONE button 90 seconds after it showed 60 seconds. I don't know what the damn thing is thinking, but impatience is clearly a vice in this business. The scenario is pretty large (1.3 Meg on this particular phase), and my machine is pretty dated (P2-233, 256M Ram, 32M video card), so maybe the old girl is just bogging down a bit much? Thanks for the consideration, Poilu
  2. A pal and I are engaged in a PBEM of one of the Stalingrad Pack scenarios, Into the Void. We've been moving along just fine up to now, but we've hit an odd glitch now on turn 11. For some reason I can watch the movie without a problem, but though it's showing 60 seconds, the DONE button is never displayed (I should be plotting my move after the movie). I've waited a couple minutes, thinking it might be late impacting arty. I thought the file might have been corrupted, so he rezipped his original and resent it. Same thing. He's tried rerunning it too to no avail. We're both patched up to version 1.01. If you'd like I could e-mail the problem turn to you and you can see if there's a fix. I don't know what else to do. It would be a shame have to leave it, as it's a fine battle. Thanks for your help, Poilu
  3. Thanks for the speedy reply. However, I'm still looking for confirmation on the CMBB uninstall. Do I just delete the CMBB folders, then reinstall the 1.0 version? Thanks for your patience, Poilu
  4. Put me down as someone that does not follow instructions well. My buddy and I were trying to coordinate the patch upgrade on our multiple PBEM sessions. I misunderstood him, and went ahead and patched, and now I can't access two games that *I* needed to save to preserve. I figure the way out is to uninstall CMBB, save (after squirreling the files away elsewhere) the games, then patch. The usual solution, going to the control panel and uninstalling, is not an Option for CMBB. I trawled the forum here, and noted that the old CMBO demo did not require an uninstall, but could just be deleted and a new one installed. Would this also be the case for CMBB? I didn't see anything in the Register... Waiting with baited breath... Poilu
  5. Greeings, Is there any word on what the hardware/OS requirements/recommendations would be for this eagerly awaited new package? Jeff "Poilu" Gringer
  6. A CM PBEM buddy of mine suggested I share a link I came across, trawling for info on the 34th Division. I'm working up some scenarios this division's campaign for the Hill 609 complex in Northern Tunisia. In any case, there is a site on this National Guard division from Iowa and Minnesota, and of special interest, there is a PDF file compiled from the unit's various people on recommendations for best practices for infantry, with sections on city fighting, river crossings, mountain fighting, everything you can think of. Please find the file at: http://www.milhist.net/deep/34InfDivLessonsLearned.pdf Best, Jeff "Poilu" Gringer
