dphillipsd
As the download is rather large, could anyone kindly suggest a programme I might use in order to 'store' the download in segments in case of a crash? Thanks!
Melnibone
I too am afraid of crashing - this is what I use:
Moon
dphillipsd, we recommend Download Express, DAP or GetRight, pretty much in this order. Our download technology supports most download managers, though. We find that DE seems to work for most people who might have a problem with the other two. They're available for free from various locations. Reichenberg
I am just assuming that the download manager included in Firefox will work fine - is that right?? Uwe
Moon
Hmm... I think that there were problems with it in the past. Does it allow multiple connections? You should use a download manager which allows to pause/resume downloads and also allows you to have several connections going at the same time. The latter increases download speeds from our server by 400-500% on average. Martin

Not really, it doesn't support multiple connections. In theory it should support resuming, but that didn't always work as it should.
Reichenberg
Thanks for the info. I will probably try Download Express for the Download than. Uwe
