Booted from TCP!

Recommended Posts

When I try to host a TCP game, my opponent and I are able to make the intitial connection, but then my machine reboots shortly thereafter when the screen is "loading 3-d graphics." I'm running an Athlon 1900 with 512 Ram and windows XP. I'm on an ethernet connection to the internet Don't know where to begin solving this problem.

You only have this problem with a TCP/IP game ? Can you browse the internet while CM is loaded ? What network card and video card do you have ?

I'd guess that somehow you either have some software that is interfering with CM's TCP/IP session or that there is a driver problem between the network card and the video card, possibly because they're configured via ACPI which forces IRQ sharing (which some drivers don't fully cooperate with).

The problem only occurs with TCP. I can minimize CM and browse the internet or chat without any problems. I'll try updating or using some older video drivers and see what, if any effect that has. I am using a GeForce3 Ti 500 vid card and 3com Ethernet card
