Changing Tech increase types on units

I changed Special Forces to Cavalry and Anti-tank to mechanized forces. I made the sprites and adjusted the values in the editor. But the problem now lies in technology improvements.

Like mech only gets anti-tank improvements because the old unit is anti-tank.

Cavalry is fine because, I assume, special forces was considered infantry.

I need to alter the anti-tank unit to count as an infantry unit.

Ive have been looking through files but cant seem to find this. Is it hardcoded in the software?
