fantomas
I downloaded with great interest the files mods on CMMDS site, but I saw that some of them had not "readme" included. There is a short presentation on the CCMODpage, but when you have downloaded the files, very oft, no readme in the zip file. If you do not at the same time "copy-past" the presentation on the site, you have no readme. So, after time, and with a lot of mods on the "market", users wille be a little desoriented, I think. I have donwnloaded all mods for playing with in the future, but sometimes, without "readme" included, it's difficult to use them correctly. So, I suggest (with respect ) you to include each time a little "readme" in txt format in your "zip" files, with basic informations and short presentation (version of mod, content, version of game, patch,etc...) : I supppose it would be better for users than just a separated presentation on the CCMOD page So, you could write in the txt file the informations you give on the presentation page of CCMOD, it would be more easy for "downloaders". That's what I will try to do for my own mods in the futur. ________________________________________________ What a readme" could be, by sample : Title : Author: Mod/scenario version : Game version (Us, French, German) used for mod/scenario and patch indication : How install : Mode of play (opponent recommanded) : Human Vs AI ? Human Vs Human ? Human side recommanded for playing : Axis ? Allied ? - The both ? Recommended settings/Preferances/options : : Map : eventual modifications or not modifications: That was NOT MODDED : (I;e : 3D unit sprites in a 2D sprites mod) Eventual indications about OOB : Historical indications : General indications : Scripts indications : Technical indications and eventual restrictions : Eventual "House rules" : Duration and victory conditions: Credits: Distribution and use : ____________________________________________ And then, do not say to me that French love bureaucracy : it's true!
