So it follows you only own one copy (as far as one truly owns software, in any case) and aren't thus free to sell/pass it on while continuing to use it yourself. While that key allows you two concurrent activations, it would not be wise to give away that key to somebody else, because you or the other person (or both) might find themselves without the ability to play in the end.
