Clearly you've never served.

If you notice your infantry move rather well in formations such as hunt, assault, and move. When you give fast and quick they move to a more strung out formation, which is accurate. I'm not saying they don't need to work on the TacAI reactions to fire. I am saying that a lot of problems are from bad tactics.

My only complaint to the regrouping is when you cancel the last waypoint, you get the snap to grid which can get you killed. That could be solved with the introduction of drag enable waypoints.

You mean you don't notice the regrouping at EVERY waypoint. Is that how they taught you to march. Move 15m then everyone stop and reorganize. All while under fire. This seems to be par for the course no matter the speed.

I have seen two contradictory views on waypoints. When you point out the pause/regrouping at waypoints people jump in and they just use one long waypoint every time. When you point out problems with AI pathfinding, some people jump in and say you should use more waypoints. Well which is it?

both my young grasshoppa :D

Balance is what is needed IMHO. It's a game that has limitations and rules. One of the problems that seems to be the case is that we don't have a clear set of rules. That is causing confusion and frustration. Time is going to be what shows us what we can and can't get away with in this game. The good thing for us is that BFC seems willing to listen and adjust things to make it more enjoyable.

Sarge: Okay, is everybody here?

Squad: Yes Sarge!

Sarge: How far did we move?

Squad: 10 meters Sarge!

Sarge: Excellent. Now everybody mill about for a bit while I get a head count and consult the map for our next objective.

Squad: Don'cha think that we should do something about that machine gun blazing away at us?

Sarge: Sure, I guess we could do that. Okay when I count to 5 I want everyone to turn to face the enemy.

Lol, not bad, GalacticCmdr. It's funny 'cause it's true. What WERE they (meaning BFC) thinking?

The old system with a delay at the beginning of the plot seems more plausible.

Huntarr as it is, better to not have it. The result of regrouping is a more unrealistic behaviour as well as AI stupidity highliting, so better to not have it.

Things have to be taken into consideration, and in the end AS IT IS is better to remove it cause the result would be much better.
