Muncha
Hi I finally took possession of my copy of CMAK However when I go to install, it seems my CDRW is incapable of reading the CD. It just gives me the following message box "Error - Read Beyond End of File". I can list the files on the CD. I cannot run setup even after waiting 10 minutes. I can only partially copy 'Setup.exe' to my harddrive. Can I remember something about a dud batch of CDs? Any suggestions/Advice would be appreciated. Schrullenhaft
Check for any scratches on your CD. Some of the CD's that were shipped seemed to have a small semi-circle of scratches (at least the copy I got was like this). This proved to be a problem with some drives, but others read the CD fine (probably because they have a different/better read laser or better error correction). It's possible that your CDRW is just having problems reading the CD. Do you know the model and manufacturer of your drive ? There may be a firmware update that might help, though to be honest it isn't likely. Most CDRW firmware updates fix issues of compatibility with media & programs, etc. Do you have another CD/DVD drive that you could try ?
Muncha
Thanks Yes I have the semi-circular set of scratches too. I will try and get a lend of another CDRW. Cheers Muncha
