pbohart
I hope people continue to purchase the product from BF.NET I am really hoping for a couple of patches and an expansion to deliver more vehicles, internet play, co-op, etc. I know that the developer is small and probably strapped for cash....so I hope that piracy doesnt kill future development on T-72 like it did for Lock On: Modern Air Combat and Falcon 4.
Jester_159th
Kill Lock On development? Are you kidding? The expansion is available. A major patch is nearing completion and the next project (Ka-50 attack chopper...as a 1.2 expansion to the original) is well under way. Doesn't seem dead to me. I've no experience of F4 (all the bugs etc put me off) but there's an updated version (F4-Allied Force) available. I've no idea how well supported it's been. The original point is no less valid, however. Piracy is definately having a major impact on developers, especially the samll independants.
kneecaps
Falcon 4 say the Free Falcon setup or SP4 were fantastic (and mostly bug free) developments. Allied Force is now out, a SECOND commerical release of the game revamped and updated (funnily enough with a Balkans campaign). I think the larger problem to priacy for these small specialist type games is availabillity. I didn't see Dangerous Waters in my local store, I didn't see sub Command, etc etc and I probably won't see Steel Beasts 2. That makes compicated overseas orders the only way to go which are fine for me but prehaps the temptation is too great for others.
