Introduction, Noob Query, and Thanks!

Hello to all my fellow fliers,

First, I wanted to say thanks to the designers of this wonderful game, which I just purchased. When I was younger I played the game 'Ace of Aces', and this is a great similar rendition.

Also, kudos to the designers for the nice graphics and sound FX. Best of all -- the recordings you can hear in the game lobby!

Only complaint -- why can RAF pilots in 1939 fight the Japanese?

Now, a Noob query -- what skill sets are best for offensive players, and for defensive players? One of my RAF teams (all four began in 1939) is already in the Hurricane, so I am starting to think ahead to skill sets. Is it better to save all my XP for the skills, or keep spending on extra single cards?

Again ... thanks to everyone. SEE YOU IN THE SKIES.

Thanks for the welcome, Inigo! I'm fumbling away learning skills as I go.

And yes, fighting the Japanese makes it more fun ... but I still feel the push-pull between historical accuracy and fun.

After all, if we were just playing for fun, let the Brits fight the Yanks!

We kind of figured the campaign games was where players could go if they wanted strict adherence to historical match-ups.

We made non-campaign games more open-ended to provide more variety and give players the opportunity to explore the "what if" scenarios.
