Bruce G. Posted October 6, 2005 Share Posted October 6, 2005 Is anyone having moderate to severe lobby disconnects, or just flat-out game drops? I've had the occasional lobby disconnect over the past couple months, but it was infrequent enough that I thought it might be on my end. But in the past two days, I have had opponents who ranged from disconnects at the end of the game, to disconnects every two minutes. Strange symptoms: the lobby disconnects and the game freezes, or the lobby disconnects but they catch it right away and log on immediately, and the game resumes without realizing it dropped, or the lobby DOESN'T disconnect but the game drops the player for some reason. During all that time, I don't disconnect at all. Is anyone else having frequent disconnect problems of this sort? Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Airborne Posted October 6, 2005 Share Posted October 6, 2005 yes, I'm having very frequent disconnects. I think its related to my wireless Linksys router. When I loaded it on my wife's computer (directly connected to cable modem) I had no problems. Mine, no good. What's your specs? Wireless by chance? bartbert Posted October 6, 2005 Share Posted October 6, 2005 I've tweaked a couple of configuration settings to allow for a few more retries and longer timeouts. I'm not on a wireless connection, but the two people I just played with who had the severe disconn problems both had wireless. To be clear, my connection is stable 99% of the time, and I have put dozens of hours into the game. I think the issue might be with wireless connections. Austin Posted October 8, 2005 Share Posted October 8, 2005 I have only tried one game earlier today ont he demo but I got dropped playing the Dunkirk campaign...I could finish out the battle but it said I lost connection with server. So you could lose your connection to the Lobby and still be able to continue with your game. That's probably what happened in your Dunkirk campaign. demoss Posted October 11, 2005 Share Posted October 11, 2005 I still get lots of lost connections too - primarily when after entering a game, it doesn't start quickly, or if I try to host a game for another player.
