pmiranda
I remember you could kind of buy suprises in the original game's campaigns (in 8th Air Force, at least). This included bad weather, FLAK, and several other things. This appears to have been dropped in the PC game. Is that correct or will it be included in the final version (or in an extension at a later time)?
Moon
pmiranda, it's true that this is not part of the current campaigns. But since the game system is quite centralized through the online and web components, we plan to have the game evolve over time as new campaigns and rules are added, new planes and skills and features introduced and so on. Part of this will be free monthly upgrades (the full game comes with an auto-update feature which automatically grabs the latest stuff when you connect to the lobby), part (like when a new nation is introduced, e.g. France or Italy) will be paid add-ons. I know that Dan is working on integrating Flak and other "events" which are part of the card game campaign system into the PC game, but in a way which is less random and gives the player more control. MartinWhy would the player be given any control over effects like flak? I assume pilots could try to avoid bad weather, but flak is going to be concentrated near ground targets and should be pretty nearly unavoidable. Getting hit by flak is a risk escort (and to some degree intercepting) pilots have to take.
