hugo
It would be great if you could add tiles to existing maps by adding a designated amount of tiles to the north, south, east, or west. That way you would not have to start all maps from scratch. I hope you can also add national borders , so that you could create new nations like Iran, of India. Les the Sarge 9-1
I think the size is limited by the software under the hood though.
pzgndr
Can do in the SC2 editor! Add/delete rows or columns. Shift contents. Create new countries and borders. And more. And Hubert has added an export/import feature for each map layer. So you can keep the same European map and terrain features, but change all the resources to something more appropriate for your custom game. Like for a WWI game, Austria-Hungary would be a major power with a new Vienna capital city and whatever resources it would need for play balance. Oil wouldn't be right, but something else could be substituted and the bitmap oil sprites changed. Lots of possibilities!!

PTO, a global conflict, or even a revised ETO game with 1-week turns and 25-mile tiles could be created. But recognize that any scale and/or scope changes will have multiple ripple effects regarding unit values, production, politics, etc. etc. etc. These would be essentially new games requiring much effort and additional playtesting to ensure realism, accuracy, play balance, and such. Now, would y'all prefer that we spend extra time playtesting multiple new game designs on our own, OR get SC2 out with a darn fine ETO package and let folks take it from there?? J P Wagner
An agricultural resource would be beneficial... perhaps Hubert could provide a nice Wheat sprite?....
